Purpose: The goals of the CMaPS program is to increase the number and quality of students in the areas of Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics by providing scholarships and a support system to enable these students to achieve the best education possible. We believe that university’s emphasis on active learning and undergraduate research can help achieve the high quality that we desire. To facilitate these kinds of active learning or research activities, we have a program to provide funds to promote summer undergraduate research for CMaPS scholars. Students can receive $3000 to conduct their research program and the faculty advisor can receive $1000 for equipment or travel. To apply for these funds, CMaPS scholars should complete the following form and get an endorsement from a faculty research mentor. The faculty mentor should send their endorsement statement to Dennis Davenport at email@example.com and include a description of the research project. Applications are due by March 31.
